So today I am not trying a new coffee... I know your all gasping for air! Instead I'm changing things up and adding an ingredient. I've been hearing if you enjoy cream in your coffee, you've got to try adding butter. This apparently helps boost metabolism and help keep inches off your waist. You can't beat that, I get to drink coffee AND slim down! I chose one of my favorite coffee's to try this with, the Rwanda Select Reserve by Westrock. I'm suppose to use unsalted organic grass feed butter, but today I'm using a little less than a tablespoon of the plain ole cheap stuff. While my coffee was brewing I melted the butter in a small condiment bowl because there's no excuse for cooling down coffee! I then poured it in like you would cream.
It's kinda strange at first, the butter sits on the top but it stirs into your brew to then resemble beef broth. It does add a interesting aroma to the coffee. The taste actually works. The salt in the butter counteracts the bitter in the coffee, which I just learned about today. It's not bad! I know I talk a lot about smooth coffee. This isn't the velvety smooth I am usually go for. I will say for those of you that swear by "coffee makes you poop", I think this might be just the thing to "butter you up" and make you "slick as a whistle" all puns intended!
I won't give any stars for Coffee Scampi, it's interesting and for health sake I think I can spare one of my cups each day for butter. It's just hard to stop thinking about the butter you just put into your coffee.
